An Artists Truth

Art has always been my journal. For years, it was private — a place to put down feelings I didn’t have words for. To watch myself unfold, emotionally.

I never once imagined calling myself an artist; I was simply trying to unpack...

Finding the courage to walk away from an unhealthy environment cracked me open in ways I didn’t expect. My paintings changed with me. They became more -

Fierce, tender, unapologetic women began to emerge on my canvas as if they had been waiting there for me- all along. They became mirrors of my own strength and vulnerability.

At first, I shared these intimate pieces quietly on social media, just to witness my own transformation. And then, something crazy happened: designers like Kate Pearce, Natalie at Home_ec_op and Lola Decor stumbled onto my very personal Instagram and chose to share my work with the world. I can’t describe the fear and shock- in those moments! Their kindness and belief in my art made me feel something though- and suddenly my private world wasn’t private anymore. Thanks to them, my paintings found a life beyond me — connecting me to others in ways I never expected.

Today, my art is about more than a canvas. It’s about becoming. It’s about reclaiming the parts of ourselves we’ve been told to hide and standing firmly in our softness and strength. Each piece is a heartfelt conversation — between me and myself, and between me and you. My hope is that they serve as a reminder that we’re not alone in our journey of uncovering ourselves. I’m deeply thankful to everyone who has seen, shared, and resonated with my work, your support fuels my creativity and courage.

Thank You

Steph.
