Woman with Antique Frame
Original Painting paired with Antique French Giltwood & Gesso Frame
PLEASE REFER TO ALL IMAGES for frame condition.
This original portrait is painted on vintage, worn album paper, allowing some of the paper’s age and character to remain visible beneath the figure. The woman is rendered in loose layers of acrylic, oil stick, pastel, and gouache, with expressive marks, softened edges, and faded of color.
The painting is shown paired with an ornate antique French wood frame dating to approximately 1830, featuring raised plaster ornament, carved floral details, and an aged gilt finish. The frame has been left with its appropriate wear and losses, including areas of cracking, chipped gesso, darkened patina, and worn gilding. These imperfections are part of its history and are intentionally preserved.
